Fox #1-8 — a second Choate well minutes from Watonga

Watonga is the Blaine County seat, at the junction of US-270, US-281, SH-8 and SH-33. SH-8 runs north from town toward Okeene and Fairview; SH-33 runs east to Kingfisher and west to Thomas. The Fox #1-8 is reached from the SH-8 side, northeast of town, on county roads toward Hitchcock. From the Pierce #1-34H it is a short run north.

Roman Nose State Park and its gypsum canyons are a few miles northwest; the North Canadian River is west of town. For a truck working the pads between Watonga, Hitchcock and Okeene, the Fox is the closest Choate well by some margin.

Blaine County is where the STACK's Meramec and Woodford fairway runs west out of Kingfisher County, and the acreage around Watonga has been developed steadily for years. Water volumes follow. The constraint for operators here has never been the geology; it has been disposal capacity close to the pad on the day they need it.
